About the Online eVisa for Kuwait

The Kuwait online eVisa is an electronic visa for travelers to Kuwait, issued through an online application system. It was introduced in 2016 to facilitate visa processing for tourists wishing to enter Kuwait for a maximum of 90 days.

The Kuwait eVisa can be obtained by completing the online application with personal information, travel details, passport data and some security questions. The approved eVisa for Kuwait is a single entry visa issued for touristic purposes.

Kuwait eVisa Conditions

The following important information relates to the eVisa for Kuwait, available for eligible foreign nationals to request online:

  • The electronic visa for Kuwait allows its holder to visit the country for a maximum duration of ninety (90) days.
  • The eVisa is a single-entry visa that allows its holder to enter and exit Kuwait only once.
  • A tourist visa is valid to enter Kuwait State within a month from the intended date of entry indicated during the application.
  • eVisa holders are not allowed to work in Kuwait.

Eligibility Requirements for Kuwait eVisa

To travel to Kuwait with an eVisa, foreign nationals must meet the following requirements:

  • All applicants must either be a citizen of one of the eligible countries as stated in the list below or have residency in one of the GCC countries: Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, or the United Arab Emirates.
  • The applicant must have a valid method of payment to make the online visa fee payment.
  • Passports must be valid for at least six (6) months at the time of arrival in Kuwait.

For GCC Residents:

  • GCC Residency should be valid for at least 6 months at the time of arrival in Kuwait.
  • In case you are a dependent of a GCC Resident (spouse, children, domestic labor etc), you may be requested to present a copy of the main applicant’s GCC Residency document. The main applicant (Sponsor) should be present with the dependents upon arrival to Kuwait.

Additional Information about the Kuwait Online eVisa

  • eVisa holders will be informed via email of the status of their application.
  • Information provided on application must match exactly the one on the passport used when traveling.
  • Upon arrival travelers will be requested to present their eVisa document at the border control checkpoint.
  • Travelers are recommended to keep a printed copy of the eVisa reference number with them at all times during their stay.
  • Once the validity period has passed, the eVisa becomes invalid and can no longer be used to enter Kuwait.
  • The duration of stay of the eVisa holder may not exceed the designated 90-day period.
  • Once eVisa Kuwait is approved, applicants will receive a confirmation email with a reference number which they will need to supply to authorities upon arrival in Kuwait.

Additional evidence requirements:

In addition to the personal information and travel details, applicants may be required to provide the following documents:

  • A scanned copy of the biographical page of the current valid passport;
  • GCC Residents also may have to provide a scanned copy of GCC residency document.

The applicant can submit this information at a later date and does not need to provide these documents at the moment of application.

Requirements to enter Kuwait

In order to facilitate entry into Kuwait, it is imperative that all eligible foreign nationals present the following upon arrival:

  1. A passport valid for at least six (6) months from the arrival date in Kuwait
  2. The approved Kuwait eVisa reference number
  3. Those applicants who claimed to have GCC residence permit may be required to show the GCC residence document on arrival at the Immigration Authorities at the entry point to Kuwait.
  4. Upon arrival, an additional visa fee of 3KD (approximately 10 USD) may apply at the border entry point.

The eVisa will generally be processed within 7 business day(s), excluding weekends (Friday and Saturday) and holidays in Kuwait. However, some may take longer to process, up to 30 business day(s) upon submission of a complete application.
